Mobile Theft Application:
As the world becomes increasingly reliant on mobile devices, the risk of theft or loss of these devices also increases. In response to this growing problem, Punjab Police Department have developed an Online mobile applications as long as Offline that allow users to file a report if their Mobile/device is lost or stolen.
If you’ve been a victim of mobile theft, we encourage you to download and use this app to file a police report. By doing so, you can help law enforcement officials track down thieves and bring them to justice.
Application Procedure
If you have been the victim of a mobile phone theft, you can file an FIR against the offender by downloading a simple application from the Google Play Store. The app, ‘File an FIR’, allows users to lodge a police complaint without any hassle.
Once you have downloaded and installed the app on your smartphone, open it and select the ‘Register Complaint’ IGP Complaint Center 1787. Here, you will be required to fill in some basic information about yourself and the incident. You will also need to upload a photograph of the offender, if possible.
Once you have submitted the complaint, an FIR will be lodged against the offender and you will be provided with a copy of the same. You can use this document to track the status of your complaint and also to claim insurance, if applicable.
Application Format:
When you file an FIR, you will be asked to provide some personal information like your name, address, and contact details. You will also be asked to describe the incident in detail. In addition, you will need to provide the police with a list of any witnesses or suspects.
